Outline of Annual Research Achievements

遠地津波の走時が線形長波に比べて遅れるのは地球と海水の弾性や重力ポテンシャルの影響であることが解明されていたが,この他に海水の成層などの影響を検討し,2011年東北地方太平洋沖地震,2004年スマトラ・アンダマン地震,2005年ニアス地震からの遠地・近地での観測津波波形について,これらの影響を考慮した位相補正を行い,津波波源を再検討した.観測された津波波形の時間逆転して津波を伝播させて波源を見積もる方法について,グリーン関数を組み合わせて改良を図り, 2009年にサモア諸島地震の津波波形を解析して波源を推定した.津波波形のデータ同化について,沖合の津波観測点と沿岸の予測点に対する津波グリーン関数を予め計算しておくことで,計算に要する時間を短縮し,津波予報に役立てる手法を開発した.
2015年に南米チリで発生したイヤペル地震について,地震波データ,測地データ,津波でデータを使って解析された結果を比較した.このほか,2016年にエクアドル沖,1992年ニカラグア沖,1906年コロンビア・エクアドル地震の他,2016年にインドネシア南方沖で発生した地震について地震波や津波波形からその波源を調べた.
1938年福島県東方沖地震の震源域近傍で発生した2016年の正断層地震について,1938年の正断層地震との比較を行い,地震波形・津波波形解析から断層パラメータを推定した.1611年慶長三陸津波地震の震源過程を歴史記録に書かれた津波到達地点を再現することで推定した. 1896年明治三陸津波と2011年東北地方太平沖地震津波を比較すると,三陸海岸における津波高はほとんど同じであるのに対し,北海道や本州の検潮所で記録された津波波形の振幅は2011年の方がずっと大きい.これは,2011年の津波の方が,より浅部の海溝軸付近ですべりが大きく,1896年はやや深いところで大きかったことが分かった.

Reason

福島県井田川低地における調査結果について予期しなかったバラつきが見られたため,一部の計画を翌年(平成30年度)に繰り越したが,この結果については,平成30年度には国際誌に結果を出版することができた.

2019年(令和元年)度は本計画の最終年であることから,これまでの結果をまとめる.
