| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
(1)2019年3月14日～15日の2日間にわたり，International Workshop on Classical Monetary Theory at Rikkyo University 2019を開催した。以下の計9本のペーパーが提出され，すべて英語で報告された。1.'On Some Premises of Classical Monetary Theory' (佐藤有史, 本研究代表者）, 2.'Interest Rate in Spain in Montesquieu and Hume: the Concept of “Money”and the vision of the World Commerce'（定森亮）, 3.'James Steuart: A Modern Approach to the Liquidity and Solvency of Public Debt' (R. Gomez Betancourt), 4.'Ricardo on Money (Ghislain Deleplace, 2017): Discussions with the Author' (竹永進), 5.'A Reconsideration of the Role of Demand in Malthus’s Theory of Accumulation' (M. Smith), 6.'"As One of the Swinish Multitude": A Note on Malthus's Casual Reference to Burke's Reflections' (中澤信彦), 7.‘Ricardo’s side of the Malthus Papers in the Collection of Kanto Gakuen University (C. Depoortere), 8.'Nominality of Money: Theory of Credit Money and Chartalism'(内藤敦之）, 9.'Ricardo Against the Landlords: on His Plan for Paying off the National Debt by a Tax on Property' (A. Barba).
(2)これまでの3度のInternational Workshopの成果を踏まえ，佐藤(研究代表者）とシドニー大学のM.スミスとの共同編集による英文論集の企画を進行させた。
(3)上記の成果の一部（「古典派貨幣理論の前提」）が2019年度経済学史学会全国大会で佐藤(研究代表者）により発表される。
(4)また，久松太郎(研究分担者）はRogerio Arthmar氏と共同論文を作成し(Rogerio Arthmar and Taro Hismatsu, "Robert Torrens, the Quantitative Approach to Economic Theory and the Law of Markets" )2019年5月のESHETで発表予定。

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
(1)研究分担者ならびに(国の内外の)研究協力者による研究は順調に進捗していると言える。また，過去3度の国際ワークショップの日本人研究者による報告は，わが国の斯界における研究水準が国際的にみて十分に高いものであることを示してきたと言えよう。
(2)そうした実績と評価を踏まえ，本科研費プロジェクトの成果を海外の出版社から英文論集を公刊することで世界に問うという体制も整いつつある。
(3)その一方で，本科研費プロジェクトを発足させた当時は想像だにしなかったことであるが，研究代表者の平成29～30年度の2年間にわたる勤務先の業務の多忙により，当初予定していた作業の一部(例えば，ヘンリー・ソーントン『紙券信用論』(1802)の新訳の完成作業など)に遅れが出たことは否めなかった。これらの遅れについては，残る2年間の研究期間に回復を図ることに全力をあげる所存である。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
(1)2019年6月以降，佐藤(研究代表者）とシドニー大学のMatthew Smith氏との共同編集による英文論集(仮題：Themes in Classicam Monetary Theory and Classsical Economists)の編集作業を急ピッチで進めたい。過去および今後の報告の数と内容に照らしてみると，十分に大部な論文集となることが期待できる。
(2)2020年3月に開催予定のInternational Workshop on Classical Monetary Theory at Rikkyo University 2020の企画を進める。
(3)なお，2020年3月は，東京大学で開催予定のThe International Adam Smith Society: Annual Meetingにおける一部のセッションでの共同企画を実現させる報告で考えている(われわれの研究グループの報告，さらに招聘する海外研究者の人選など）。
(4)ヘンリー・ソーントン『紙券信用論』の新訳の完成作業に従事する。
