An observational study of the evolution of supermassive black holes through the combination of the Subaru HSC survey and multi-wavelength dataset

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究最終年度の平成31年度は、これまですばるHSCを用いて取得されたサーベイデータを使って、巨大ブラックホールの異なる進化段階にある多様なAGN種族のサンプル構築とその拡大を推進した。特に電波銀河については、赤方偏移4.7の電波銀河を新たに発見した(Yamashita, Nagao, et al. submitted)。これまで見つかった電波銀河の中で4番目に遠い天体となる。更に、HSCで見つかった可視光で暗い電波銀河の中に活発な星形成活動を示すものが含まれている事は昨年度に確認していたが、巨大ブラックホール成長の観点でも非常に若く活発な天体が含まれている事を見出した(Ichikawa, Yamashita, Toba, Nagao, et al. submitted)。電波銀河に急成長中の巨大ブラックホールが含まれているという描像はこれまでほとんど検討されておらず、巨大ブラックホール進化に関して極めて興味深い知見が得られた。塵に覆われたAGNについても、前年度に発見していた可視光で顕著に青い色を示す塵に覆われたAGNについてVLTを用いた分光観測を行った結果、非常に大きな輝線速度幅および等価幅を示す事が判明した。この結果は、可視光で青い塵に覆われたAGNがまさに塵を放射圧で吹き飛ばしつつある段階にあるというシナリオと合致する(Noboriguchi, Nagao, et al. 論文準備中)。
更に将来的な可視光-エックス線の連携広視野AGN探査に向け、昨年度まで国際連携体制を構築していたHSC-eROSITA共同研究について、無事にeROSITAの打ち上げが成功した事を受け、eROSITA試験観測データを用いた実際のAGN探査を開始した。この初期成果を得るための分光観測が悪天候により遅延し、計画期間内に完了しなかった事は残念だったが、近い将来に確実な成果が期待される。
