| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
最新鋭の波長可変ライダーに追加の拡張システムを開発/投入することで電離圏 (高度100-300 km) の窒素分子イオン (N2+) のライダー観測を実現させ, 有効な観測手段の欠如のために理解が遅れている電離圏組成研究の新展開に資することを目指す. 更に, 窒素原子イオン(N+), カルシウムイオン (Ca+) など, その他の電離圏組成を対象とする新たなライダー観測への展開を視野に入れつつ, 新技術や新観測手法の開発への取組みにも挑戦する.
南極昭和基地における波長可変ライダーの試験観測を継続している. 試験的観測データを蓄積してる途中であるが, 初期的なデータ解析にも着手している. 一方で, 更なる展開として, カルシウムイオン (Ca+) を対象とする新しいライダーシステムの基本構想についての検討を進めた. 新システムでは, LDレーザーを送信レーザーに採用することで安定かつ高出力の送信レーザー系を構築し, 現システムを超える性能を目指す予定である. 今年度は基本デザインを進め, 次年度から基礎技術の開発に着手することを予定している.
