Outline of Annual Research Achievements

①総括支援班 : 10万人を超える健常人コホートにより、経時的生活情報とともに血清、DNA等のバイオリソースを、また、がん、脳疾患、高齢者等から、倫理面に十分配慮された、1万件に達する生体試料を、それぞれ収集してきたが、これらの研究基盤リソースを提供するとともに、これをさらに全国規模で発展継続させ、生命科学研究者の独創的な基盤的研究に貢献しようとする、この分野における我が国最大規模の支援である。当プラットフォームの支援活動自体が国民一人ひとりとの関わりが強い活動であることから、総括支援活動においては、その支援内容や知見について広く市民の理解を得られるよう、青少年を含む一般市民に向けた公開講座を、シンポジウム等とならんで積極的に開催してきた。
②コホートによるバイオリソース支援活動(ブレインバンクを除く) : 既存のゲノム・表現型情報を利活用する支援では、当該データ項目の一覧表をHP上で公開し、3件の研究支援を採択した。また、がん罹患データベースを整備し、がん早期診断法の検証支援に必要な倫理審査を終了した。
③日本神経科学ブレインパンクネットワークの構築 : 死後脳オーブンリソースによる日本ブレインバンクネットワーク構築・運用により、コホートリソースに加え、全国稀少疾患リソース構築を推進し、37研究室と共同研究し、英文オリジナル22件の発表に貢献した。
④生体試料による支援活動 : 134課題に生体機能分子の高感度解析・技術支援と連携構築支援を実施した。90課題にがん試料(組織、血液)を提供、7942試料を収集。論文23編に貢献。解析・試料支援体制を整備。普及・啓発講演を実施した。

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

①総括支援班 : これまで扱ってこなかった関東、東北、北海道などのコホートも加え、名実ともに我が国を代表するパイオリソースに育ちつつある。また、一般市民に対する公開講座等を積極的に開催して、国民の理解を得て進めようとしている。
②コホートによるバイオリソース支援活動(ブレインバンクを除く) : 平成28年度の「研究の目的」、「研究実施計画」に従い、既存のゲノム・表現型情報を利活用する支援では、当該データ項目の一覧表をHP上で公開し、3件の研究支援を採択した。また、がん罹患データベースを整備し、がん早期診断法の検証支援に必要な倫理審査を終了した。さらに、「がん支援活動」の一環としてリクルートを終了した10.1万人分のコホートについても、第二次調査、がん罹患調査、循環器疾患罹患調査(一部地区)、死亡追跡調査を継続し、本プラットフォームにおける研究支援に、生体試料、データを提供できる体制を維持、発展させた。
③日本神経科学ブレインバンクネットワークの構築 : 徳島大学が病理三講座と神経内科の協力の下、稀少難病の半脳凍結、高齢者ブレインバンク委託を今年度開始した。当初の高齢者コホートリソースに加え、稀少疾患リソースを全国レベルで展開出来る雛形となった。大阪市大からも1例登録を得ることが出来た。全国でブレインバンク生前ドナー登録コーディネートを推進し、拠点内蓄積に加え、大阪一件、広島一件の外部協力拠点による、リソース構築が出来た。
④生体試料による支援活動 : 初年度における支援実施体制の整備、支援の広報・啓発を進めつつ、支援課題数は生体機能分子解析・技術・連携支援および生体試料収集・提供支援ともに平成28年度の研究支援実施計画を上回り、国際的にインパクトのある論文発表に貢献した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

①総括支援班 : 我が国にこれまで存在する他のコホート研究と連携して、統一された日本のコホート研究となるよう推進している。
②コホートによるバイオリソース支援活動(ブレインバンクを除く) : 支援件数、被支援者数の増加を図るため、ホームページ(HP)上に、提供可能な生体試料・データ、および支援可能な大規模バイオデータ解析の情報を発信する。また関係学会に、学会HPからの上記HPへのリンク、会員へのメールによる情報提供を依頼する。さらに早期診断マーカー検証支援など、増加した発症アウトカム情報を活用した支援に着手するなど、支援メニューの充実を図る。
③日本神経科学ブレインバンクネットワークの構築 : 各拠点で剖検同意時ブレインバンク登録を得る、コホート死後脳リソース構築に加え、公開講座、サイエンスカフェ等の広報運動を基盤に、生前同意ブレインバンクドナー希望者のコーディネートを全国レベルで行うことで、稀少疾患デポジトリーを推進する。
④生体試料による支援活動 : 多様な支援申請者(被支援者)のニーズに迅速に対応して支援成果を研究者に還元するため、解析支援技術の向上や試料収集の質の確保を進め、併せて支援班内の連携体制を強化する。普及・啓発活動を積極的に展開し、被支援者の裾野を広げる。
