Outline of Annual Research Achievements

最終年度は、陸域水循環の要素モデルの高度化作業を完了させ、統合陸域シミュレータへの結合を行い、本研究の目的である次世代陸域モデルの構築を達成した。MERIT Hydroなどの高精度地形データを統合して地表水動態の再現性が大幅に向上した全球河川モデルCaMa-Flood v4を公開した。全球水資源モデルH08については、取水堰と配水、市町村レベルの水利用に関するアルゴリズムの検討を重点的に進め、全球1km解像度シミュレーションの実施に先立ち、九州2km解像度でのモデル適用を進めた。
統合陸域シミュレータについては、2020年にバージョン1.0(ILS v1)を完成させた。ILS v1は、気候モデルMIROC5の陸面過程MATSIRO5のコードを全面的に書き換えたものと、全球河川モデルCaMa-Floodの2つを、陸域の物理過程を表現するコアモデルとした。それらを汎用カプラーJcupで結合することで、様々なシミュレーションを実施できるようになった。
高度化したモデル群によって陸域水循環シミュレーションを実施し、結果解析に取り組んだ。全球1kmシミュレーションについては、MPI/OpenMPを用いたハイブリッド並列化などの計算効率改善に取り組み、富岳での1kmテスト計算に成功した。
全球長期シミュレーションについては、LS3MIP/CMIP6の実験結果を各国の研究機関から収集し、解析した。モデル比較プロジェクトのベンチマーキング、長期水・炭素循環、雪氷物理プロセスに関する結果をまとめた。
アラル海流域シミュレーションについては、陸面過程モデルSiBUCをベースに、灌漑地開発や灌漑効率の歴史的変遷などを考慮することで、アラル海集水域に特化した陸域水循環モデルを作成し、畝間灌漑に適していない農地が1990年以降増加し、水利用効率を下げている可能性が確認された。
