Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The research focuses on the communication method of the distributed wireless system without control station, which can be used to realize cooperative driving of a group of running vehicles flexibly. The communication method is suggested to have characters of convenience for using, high throughput, low delay, etc. We were able to obtain good results and proposed a new communication method. Using OR (Operations Research) theory regarding the formation and management of vehicle groups, the most efficient methods can be examined from the aspects of mathematical/statistical models. In addition, we also focused on the translational motion using an autonomous mobile robot, and obtained the result that different from the previous report in the case of that not only the translational motion of the robot but also the turning motion was taken into consideration. The research results can contribute to cooperation running of the vehicle group.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は交通効率を向上するためにフレキシブルに走行中の自動車群の協調走行を実現し,ソフト一体化することを目的とし,新型高効率情報通信方式及び走行方式に関する研究である.制御方式,通信方式,OR理論による走行原則などの部分を整合して,車個体の相違を吸収して,道路状況への適応,省燃費,高い安全性を向上できる協調走行に関連する課題を幅広く検討した.ソフト一体化(自動車群は仮想的に一体となり,各自動車は車輌群全体の一部として全体または関連の一部から合意,協力を得て行動する)の優位性は本研究で明らかにした.本研究により交通事故の削減,渋滞緩和,省エネなどの面において大いなる意義をもたらすことができる.
