Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当該年度は,これまで開発を行ってきた数値モデリングコードによる数値計算の展開と,それらの結果をとりまとめ,成果発表を進めてきた.これまでに開発した地球回転変動が及ぼす効果を詳細に計算できるコードを用いて,入力値となる地球内部粘性構造および第四紀氷床変動史について,広範囲に渡るパラメータを設定し数値計算を展開した.その結果について,地球内部粘性構造,氷床変動,海水準変動,地殻変動とそれぞれの観点よりとりまとめを行った.地球が過去に経験したとされる極端な氷床配置を設定した場合,アイソスタシー的に固体地球がどのように応答するかといった問題に対して,氷床分布,およびその時間変化や地球内部粘性構造について,数値計算結果と地質データとの詳細な比較検討を進めた.様々な初期設定を仮定した数値実験結果より,計算される海水準変動曲線が場所と時間によって顕著に変化する特徴を見いだし,地球内部粘性構造を拘束することに成功し,論文として国際誌に公表した.また,最終氷期の海水準について,約3万年前から2万年前までの海水準変動のデータを検討し,氷期の期間に氷床が拡大縮小するタイミングを詳細に決定した論文を国際誌に公表した.加えて,その変動を支配する要因の一つが南極氷床の変動にある可能性について,モデル計算と地形データの比較検討を行った成果を国際学会にて発表した.並行して堆積物荷重の効果を評価する計算コードの開発も継続して行い,現在の地形形成に対して堆積物の荷重効果を定量的に調べ,完新世の海水準変動に対する影響を精査した成果を国際学会で発表した.
