Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
A corpus of comprehensible English materials was created to make Data-driven Learning (DDL) accessible to beginning English students in Extensive Reading. The efficacy of comprehensible DDL for improving lexicogrammatical proficiency and overall reading speeds was investigated. Dependent means T-tests of the post-tests for experimental and control groups indicated almost every student improved significantly. Independent T-Test means found no overall no statistical difference between the experimental and control groups with lexicogrammatical proficiency, but experimental groups using DDL significantly improved more than the control group reading speeds and in the total amount of words read.
