Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated transmission properties of terahertz waves through a metal parallel-plate waveguide sandwiching a plastic tube. We have taken a forward step in developing terahertz spectroscopy using a minute fluid channel. We showed that loss attenuation peaks observed in this system can be applied in terahertz spectroscopy from terahertz spectroscopic experimental results as well as those obtained by computer simulations based on the finite element method. We experimentally investigated dynamical fluctuations of human adult hemoglobin (Hb A) originating cotroling oxygen affinity. We obtained fluctuation properties of the main chain of Hb A in high and low oxygen affinity.

金属導波路を用いて微量液体流路をカップルさせた金属導波路の開発を進めることができ、タンパク質の「機能発現」と「テラヘルツ領域の揺らぎ」との相関に関する新たな知見を得ることに成功し、テラヘルツ分光が動的揺らぎの研究の進展に寄与することを示した。
