Outline of Final Research Achievements

Fisheries research vessels are indispensable to investigations of bio-resources and oceanic environmental information necessary for maintenance of sustainable fisheries activities and resources management.
In this study, water tank experiments and numerical simulations are carried out to find out characteristics of fisheries research vessel’s motion and influences of hydrodynamic phenomena to observation equipment in expected actual sea conditions.
From the results, important knowledges are obtained to be considered in order to realize high performance and efficient observation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究で水槽実験と数値シミュレーションを実施した結果,漁業調査船の運動特性に影響をおよぼす要因や,これまで詳細が明らかにされていなかった観測・調査機器の周囲に生じる流体現象を見出すことができ,観測をより正確かつ効率的に実施するために必要となる,重要な知見を得ることができた。これらの成果を今後の漁業調査船の設計・建造における運動制御性能の推定・評価や,観測機器の開発・改良の際に考慮することで,観測手法を従来よりも優れたものへと発展させることができると考えられる。
