Allocation TypeMulti-year Fund
Research Field Science in genetics and breeding
Research InstitutionObihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine

Principal Investigator

Kiyoaki Kato

Project Period (FY) 2016-04-01 – 2019-03-31
Outline of Final Research Achievements

1)We developed a total of 45 chromosome segment substitution lines that covers the entire genome of Yukihikari as contiguous, overlapping segments in the genomic background of a superior eating quality line Joiku462 and good eating quality cv. Kirara397. 2)We performed a microarray analysis of the human intestinal cell line Caco-2 in order to decide the candidate genes to evaluate the effect of rice powder of Yukihikari.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
