Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、極限環境などに生息する生物の無代謝休眠についてその分子機構を解明することである。無代謝休眠の状態では、代謝など生物的特徴は極限まで停止している一方、様々な環境ストレスに対する耐性を獲得している。本年度は、単細胞生物を用い、より単純な実験系で無代謝休眠の実験系を解明することを試みた。モデルとする単細胞生物としてコルポーダを選定し、単離、同定して培養株を確立した。確立した培養株を用い、様々な生理学的実験を行い、無代謝休眠の耐性機構に関して新たな知見を得られつつあり、新たな研究課題へとステップアップすることができた。
