Outline of Annual Research Achievements

持続可能な水産資源利用のためには科学的知見に基づいた適切な資源管理が必要不可欠であり,とりわけ資源の加入に貢献する集団がどの海域で生まれ,どのような回遊経路を経て再生産に至るのかを把握する事は管理方策を決定する上で非常に重要である.本研究の目的は「回遊魚類の生息域履歴の推定法の開発」であり,脊椎骨のネオジム・鉛・ストロンチウム同位体組成,耳石の放射性炭素濃度,肉の有機汚染物質組成を分析する事で魚類の回遊履歴を推定する手法の確立を目指す.
2017年度に実施したムラサキイガイの殻のネオジム同位体比分析の結果より,由来判別の有用性が強く支持された.2018年度はその成果を論文としてまとめ,Marine Environmental Research誌に受理された.また同様の手法をアサリの殻に応用した結果,やはりネオジム同位体比は地質に応じた値を示すことが明らかになった.埋在性二枚貝であるアサリと付着性二枚貝であるムラサキイガイについて同じ地点から採取した試料を比較したところ,アサリの方が採取地点の地質を強く反映するのに対し,ムラサキイガイは海水のネオジム同位体組成にも影響を受けている可能性が示唆された.さらに,大槌湾と対馬から採取した複数種の二枚貝の同位体組成を比較した結果も同様に,埋在性二枚貝の方が付着性二枚貝よりも現地の地質を強く反映する傾向が見られた.
魚類の回遊研究に応用するために,ニホンウナギの脊椎骨の分析を試みたが,魚類脊椎骨中のネオジム濃度は極めて低いことが明らかとなり,分離手法や分析手法の改良が必要であることが明らかとなった.
