Outline of Final Research Achievements

The social isolation and loneliness of the elderly living alone, which is rapidly increasing, threatens not only the dignity of the individual elderly, but also the well-being of their families, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, and society. Therefore, building a society aimed at preventing the social isolation and loneliness of the elderly living alone is a serious academic and policy issue that concerns not only individual elderly people but also society as a whole. This study aims to develop a Global-Good-Practice model for the prevention of social isolation and loneliness based on the social factors of social isolation and loneliness among the elderly living alone, through a systematic review, expert Through interviews and epidemiological studies, a number of indicators were developed to contribute to the planning and evaluation of the intervention model, and their reliability and validity were tested.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

急増する独居高齢者の社会的孤立・孤独死は、高齢者個人の尊厳のみならず、家族や友人、知人、近隣、社会の安寧を脅かす。よって独居高齢者の社会的孤立・孤独の予防にむけた社会を構築することは、高齢者個人はもとより、社会全体にかかわる、今日の重大な学術的、施策的課題である。本研究で開発した介入モデルの計画、評価に資する多数の指標は、学術的、施策的有用性が高く、有意義である。
