Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
There were three major achievements in the third year of the study. First, users were able to use the LS Application (LS APP) with fewer technical difficulties. Reliability, speed, and ease of navigation of the Lesson Study Application was improved. How these improvements were made and their effect were documented (Hall, 2019). Second, more users were able to provide more feedback on lessons compared to years 1 and 2. The LS APP was used to give feedback to pre-service and in-service teachers in Japan, Thailand, and Myanmar. Approximately 80 pre-service teachers received feedback and 10 in-service teachers. The number of users of the APP numbered to about 115. Third, the LS APP was successfully used as a tool for teaching and disseminating good practices (Hall, 2019, 2020). In conclusion, the LS APP has been developed into a tool for providing feedback to teachers as well as disseminating good practices to future teachers. In the future, more work needs to be done to make using media for comments easier as well as increasing the number of in-service teachers who can utilize the application independently. The end result, however, is a tool has been developed that the researchers' university can use for teacher education and facilitating professional development.
