| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究は、歴史研究者からなる歴史データベース（DB）ユニットと、気象及び空間・水文解析の研究者による空間解析ユニット（以下空間ユニット）、それらを統括する統括ユニットが協働して行った。
DBユニットと空間ユニットは、気候と水圏に関係する3つの問題群①「自然環境・現象」、②「生産・生活」、③「移動・流通」を、19世紀初頭から20世紀半ばを対象として相互連関的に検討した。エルニーニョによる異常気象が想定されている、ベンチイヤー（1876－78年、1918－20年、1931年）を共有し、「自然災害と社会変動（生産・生活）」と「水圏間のつながりと仮想水貿易 (Virtual Water Trade) （移動・流通）」を共通テーマとして設定し、各年のそれぞれのテーマについて、(1)データ収集とDB化、(2)空間・水文解析の応用、(3)分析・考察という3つのプロセスを繰り返して分析結果を共有した。それらを比較統合することで、近代アジア社会経済の構造と動態を明らかにした。
これらの成果を、統括ユニットが取り纏め、①The Sixth Biennial Conference of East Asian Environmental History (EAEH September 2021)②Asian Network for GIS-based Historical Studies (ANGIS Tokyo) (December 2021). 国際学会年次総会③社会経済史学会第91回全国大会（2022年5月）④XIX World Economic History Congress （WEHC） 2022-Paris（July 2022）⑤AAS 2023 Boston (March 2023)といった内外の主要な学会での発表を通じて発信した。
