Outline of Annual Research Achievements

地球放射線帯変動のモデリングとしてテスト粒子シミュレーションを実行した。電子ピッチ角の理論的な時間変化を求め、数値グリーン関数の結果と比較することで、各共鳴がもたらす電子ピッチ角散乱過程とその様々な物理パラメータに対する依存性を明確に示すことに成功した。また斜め伝搬を含む電磁イオンサイクトトロン波による電子のピッチ散乱のデータベース構築のためのプログラム開発に着手し今後の研究展開の準備を行った。
昼側の磁気圏境界における磁気リコネクション領域において、ホイッスラーモード波と電子の相互作用の直接観測に成功し、内部磁気圏と同様の非線形成長過程が磁場勾配によって起こっていることを検証した。
「あらせ」衛星単独観測に加え,衛星-衛星間,衛星-地上観測網間の協調観測により、内部磁気圏における電磁サイクロトロン波による高エネルギー電子の加速・ 散乱機構に関する研究成果を多数上げることが出来た。特に、地上観測と衛星の協調観測が順調に進んだことにより、地球磁場に補足されている高エネルギー電子が電磁サイクロトロン波によるピッチ角散乱を受けて超高層大気に降り込む現象について、1秒以下の速い時間スケールにまでに及んで脈動オーロラの明滅をコントロールしていることを解明した。限られた衛星の観測データから波動-粒子相互作用を定量的に解析するために考案された波動粒子相関解析法によって、波動と粒子の間でのエネルギー交換が実際に宇宙空間中で行われていることを評価することが可能となり、速度分布関数の変化を捉えることに成功した。
超小型の粒子観測器については最も高い観測角度分解能とエネルギー分解能が要求される太陽風イオンの観測を行えるだけの性能を持った超小型軽量粒子観測器を設計することに成功した。また粒子センサーと共に波動粒子相関解析を実現するプラズマ波動観測器についてもASICによる超小型化を進めた。
