Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1. Student motivation: We collected additional data by distributing our validated questionnaire to students in the fall semester. We now have 227 responses that have both a base-line and follow-up information. These responses came from the classes of nine teachers. The data are currently being analyzed being prepared for submission to national and international academic conferences, however data analysis has been delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
2.Teacher Characteristics: Based on participant observation in meetings and focus groups, we developed the next research stage, which aims to record instructors while they provide feedback on student papers. This research will investigate the interactive and cognitive aspects of the feedback process. We scheduled research to begin in the Spring of 2020; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the investigation is postponed indefinitely. The study will begin as soon as it is safe to do so.
3. Corpus Analysis: Our analysis of the student paper corpus has yielded some promising results which were presented at the International Corpus Linguistics Conference in July, 2019. We are currently preparing the findings for submission for publication.
