| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research in this year is mainly devoted to investigating key service characteristics in the container liner shipping (CLS) industry and its impact on customer satisfaction.It maps service quality dimensions to a new set of service characteristics based on the latest priorities of CLS companies. The data collected through online survey is regressed in a non-linear model. The results identifies the top three service characteristics influencing customer satisfaction while digitization tops the liner shipping managers’ agenda. The research was presented in the 11th International Conference of Asian Shipping and Logistics (ICASL) in June 2018. The full paper titled “Service characteristics and customer satisfaction in the container liner shipping industry“ is awarded as "Commended Paper“ by the conference scientific committee, and was published by the“Asian Journal of Shipping and Logistics" in March 2019.
Another succeeding research is conducted to estimate the influence of market structure and market conduct characteristics (such as market concentration, presence of alliances) on the firm performance in the CLS market. A distributed lag model is applied to estimate the dynamic effects. The research result will be presented in the International Association of Maritime Economist conference 2019.

Two papers are written, out of which one paper was published and the other is forthcoming in international journal. Another succeeding research is to be presented in an international conference in June 2019.
