Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, Basophil activation test (BAT) and Drug lymphocyte stimulation test (DLST) were performed in patients with various types of drug hypersensitivity and food allergy. The high sensitivity was detected with both BAT and DLST in severe cutaneous drug reaction such as SJS/TEN and DIHS. Some samples showed positive results for BAT despite negative for DLST. As a result, our results showed BAT is a possible diagnostic assay for drug hypersensitivity and food allergy.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
