| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This year the research has been mainly conducted through field investigation. Three field trips were made to Beijing, Nanjing and its neighboring regions, and Singapore.
In Beijing, I have interviewed government officials in charge of organic certification and exports;
In Nanjing and its neighboring Yangtze River Economic Delta (one of the most developed and active economic zone of China) where organic certified products and trade are more prevailing, I have interviewed industry people as well as several organic certified farms whose products are sold to trading companies for exports;
In Singapore where is one of the biggest market of organic food in Asia and where imports agricultural and food, I have interviewed industry people in organic sector and government officials.

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to last year (FY2017)'s delay of survey and interview designing, the field investigation conducted in FY2018 was a little bit late comparing to the original proposed schedule. I will fasten up the data clean up process and catch up with the original proposed schedule in the coming year.
In addition, given the small number of organic producers, limited data were collected. The analyzing method may be changed based on the statistical characteristics of the collected data in the next stage.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Based on the field investigation results, I will continue cleaning up data, summarizing and organizing the qualitative materials. Further revision and short field investigation will be conducted to collect supplementary materiel and data.
To conduct a well-rounded research, I will also study the importing countries, the organic exports destination of China, developed countries in Europe and North America in FY2019.
I will start to drafting the paper in FY2019.
In addition, I will start to present the general review of Chinese organic exports based on FY2017-2018's research in universities and other relevant platform to collect feedback to further review the draft.

| Causes of Carryover |
Due to the delay of field investigation from FY2017, money has been carried over since then even though several field investigations were conducted in FY2018.
In FY2019, I will purchase new software for data analyzing and conducting more business trips for field investigations and conference presentations.
