| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Due to difficulties in field investigation in China and the further development of the COVID-19 pandemic, following up data collection and interviews were not able to carry out. To handle this insufficient data situation: 1) I have re-done literature, particularly focused on methodologies to handle the situation of insufficient data; 2) I have tried several ways to obtain some secondary data about China's organic market and trade; 3) updated and revised previous draft on background and literature review; 4) continue to focus on importing European markets, studying their imports regulations, capacity, and organic food market.

4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
As mentioned before two major reasons: 1) difficult to collect first-hand data in China through field investigation and interview; 2) pandemic makes any travel and face-to-face interview difficult. It's also become to difficult to schedule appointment with people when there is always lock-down and working from home.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will finish up the project by 1) using previous collected data and secondary data for major analysis;2) altering the focus of the analysis more towards a. Chinese domestic organic food market development and b. for exports, focusing on European importing markets, meeting their standards and winning markets. The findings will still be able to shed light on other exporting countries and can be applied to other importing markets.
Given the delayed progress final paper is expected to submit after closure of the project.

| Causes of Carryover |
Because of the pandemic business trips and conferences are canceled. Meeting and inviting international experts and organizing seminar/symposium are not possible. In addition since I have stayed abroad in the past year, purchasing hardware is also difficult.
