Outline of Final Research Achievements

To construct molecular logistics using liquid crystalline microcapsules (LC-MCs), we focused on the molecular diffusion in LC-MCs and have developed a measurement technique of the diffusion anisotropy. In addition, we have constructed a library of LC-MCs: it contains high-efficiency LC-MCs that work as laser resonators and LC-MCs with smectic LC shells. Furthermore, we have developed the fabrication technique of ordered porous materials as scaffolds for LC-MC arrays.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
