Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2018年度に確立した方法論に基づき、以下の成果をあげた。まず、河川を流れる溶存態有機物が、滞留時間の異なる有機炭素が混合したものであることを明らかにした(Ishikawa et al. 2019 Organic Geochemistry)。次に、炭素循環の指標としての放射性炭素(Δ14C)の有効性について議論した(Ishikawa et al. 2020 Limnology & Oceanography)。さらに、アミノ酸の炭素安定同位体比とΔ14Cをより高精度に測定できるように、方法論を改良した(Blattmann et al. 2020 Frontiers in Marine Science; Sun et al. 2020 Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry)。この方法論から、生物圏と地圏との大連環について、今後の研究の方向性を展望した(Blattmann & Ishikawa 2020 Frontiers in Marine Science)。そして、アミノ酸の窒素安定同位体比(δ15N)を用いて、海産魚類の長距離移動を追跡できる方法論を確立し、水産重要種であるサケに適用した(Matsubayashi et al. 2020 Ecology Letters)。以上の成果から、本研究で確立した方法論が、河川、流域、沿岸、さらには外洋にかけての生態系の構造を明らかにするための、有効な指標であることが示された。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究で対象とする沿岸生態系は、広義に流域と海洋を指すが、まずは流域において成果をあげた。今後、海洋へと研究を展開していきたい。
