Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は未開拓の分野である太陽中性子観測を、独自のアイデアで設計・開発する革新的中性子・ガンマ線センサ、およびセンサを搭載する発展の著しい超小型衛星で開拓し、太陽フレアやコロナ質量放出におけるイオンの加速機構解明を目指すものである。現在開発している太陽中性子センサは超小型衛星の限られたリソースの中で小型・軽量・低消費電力を実現し、かつ、放射線が入射した時の反応の飛跡を3次元的に可視化することが可能な画期的なものである。このような追跡型のセンサのため、センサ数や信号処理数が700を超え、膨大なものとなっており、それを省スペース(10cm角程度)の中で高密に配置して実現する必要がある。したがって、信号処理基板を製作する前に重量や構造を模擬したモックアップを作成し、実際に組み立て可能であること検証した上で進めている。現在は衛星搭載(フライト)モデルと同等の形態をもつエンジニアリングモデル(EM)用のセンサを開発中である。棒状のプラスチックプラスチックシンチレータ16本を8層に積層したものとGAGG12x12アレイセンサ)の組みたてと必要な電子回路基板の製作は一通り完了している。現在は、昨年度に続き、個々の電子回路基板の試験およびデバッグを進めている。一部の基板に不具合が見つかり新たに製作し直した。ミッションセンサ用のオンボードコンピュータについても現在デバッグ・ソフトウエア試験を継続している。今後、センサや通信機、GPS他の周辺機器と接続したEnd-to-end試験を行い、フライトモデル製作・センサの宇宙実証実現へと向かいたい。また、並行して超小型衛星を活用する人材を育成するため、民間における宇宙利用と題して大学生以上向けの2週間講習会を実施している。。
