Outline of Final Research Achievements

In order to foster students who actively learn in an online environment, we developed a system to support students' interaction with each other by improving a commercially available social network service. As a result, we found that students who used the system showed a positive change in their attitudes toward learning, although the results were not statistically sufficient. However, we were unable to obtain sufficient results to determine whether the students' learning tendencies themselves were affected by the group they belonged to in the face-to-face world, due to changes in the students' interrelationships caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の成果から，オンライン環境であっても，学習に対して好意的な意見が得られる環境を提供することで，学生の学びに対する意識を好転させることができることが分かった．この結果は，ともすると友人同士の友好関係を維持するあまり，学習に対して好意的な考え方を持っているにもかかわらず否定的な行動をとることで，所属するグループ全体の学力の低下を招く状況を改善できる可能性がある．これにより，学生の学習に対する主体的な振る舞いが強化されることで，より学びの効果が高められると期待できる．
