Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the coming society, human resource development with 21st century skills will be required. STEM education has the potential to foster such human resources. STEM education needs to be promoted in school education, but at present, there are not enough teachers who can promote STEM education. Therefore, we considered the need to develop STEM practices while utilizing the knowledge of experts other than teachers.
In this study, we identified what kind of communication activities teachers, researchers, engineers, and others engage in to develop STEM classes. Then, using the findings, we attempted to organize what to keep in mind when developing STEM practices.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

STEM実践開発には、多分野の専門家の知が必要になる。本研究における学術的意義は、STEM実践開発を行う際に、教師、研究者、工学者等が何に着目し、どのような発言をしているかを明らかにしたことである。そして、本研究における社会的意義は、これらの知見を活用し、STEM授業検討会において、何に着目し、どのような点に留意すべきかの発見を試みたことである。これは、学校教育におけるSTEM実践開発の参考になると考える。しかし、これについては、さらなる事例研究から知見を得る必要があると考えている。
