Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, by incorporating photomelting azobenzene monomers with fast solid-liquid transition into the polymer networks, a new photoresponsive polymer material has been developed which exhibits a reversible glass transition temperature change at room temperature and rapid photomechanical actuation under light irradiation. It is possible to trigger fast photomechanical actuation in films using light-induced changes in the glass transition temperature of polymers.
