Outline of Final Research Achievements

It is believed that osteoporosis induces bone resorption in implant therapy and osteogenic surgery for this purpose, and that new bone formation is significantly reduced even after osteogenic surgery. Recently, the relationship between bone metabolism and glucose metabolism has been attracting attention, and since it is thought that glucose metabolism drugs may also affect bone metabolism and wound healing, we investigated this using a rat model of osteoporosis. The results suggest that therapeutic agents for glucose metabolism may affect the maintenance of bone formation and wound healing after osteogenic surgery in osteoporosis model rats.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
