気相法カーボンナノチューブの選択成長とナノ構造制御ならびに機能評価に関する研究

Research Abstract

本研究は、多層(MW)および二層(DW)カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)の精緻な成長と構造の制御法開拓ならびにその成長メカニズムの解明、物性解析を中心に研究し、またCNTの生体応用・安全性検討も含め、CNTの科学と応用の発展に資する総合的な基礎科学への貢献を目指すものである。最終年度の本年度は、次のように予定に沿った成果を得ることができた。すなわち(1)基板法、流動法、浮遊法による主として二層CNTの選択的、高純度成長法の確立、殊に浮遊法による高純度生成に成功し、それによって得られた触媒CVD法二層CNT(DWCNT)の構造をC_<60>Peapod法DWCNTと比較して構造等の違いを明確にし、さらにPPMSによるバルク状CNT「の電気特性とラマン分光による構造解析との相関性を解明できた(ACS Nano, 9(5), 7547, 2011)(2)二層CNT内へ各種金属の一次元チェーン内包形成手法の検討により、効率的に内包させる手法の開拓と金属種によって異なる構造を明確にでき、それにより例えばDCWNTsに濃度の異なるBr_2、I_2を相互作用させ、ラマン分光分析により構造の特異性を解析した(Carbon, 49, 3585-3596(2011))(3)ラマン分光分析および原子分解能透過電子顕微鏡観察により二層カーボンナノチューブの圧力下における構造変化および物性評価を実現した(The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1,675,2011)。(4)多層CNTの複合化構造の形成過程と成長シミュレーション提案した(ChemSusChem, 4,931,2011)。さらに、(5)CNTの安全性検討・生体応用も含め、MWCNTの生体応用のための安全性研究を目的として、入墨(tattoo)に用いられるカーボンブラックを基準物質としてMWCNTと比較して生体反応性を評価検討し(Materials Today,14,9,434,2011)、またCNT単体およびCNTを含む生体材料としての応用的側面からの安全性・毒性についても検討して関連する基礎科学分野の知見を深めた(例えばAdvanced Materials,24,2176,2012)。本研究のかかる成果は、国際会議での招待講演、国際誌論文発表等を通して当該分野の科学に貢献するものと判断され、今後の関連科学のさらなる発展に繋がるものと期待される。
