Research Abstract

エジプト・アラブ共和国、メンフィス・ネクロポリスはギザの大ピラミッドなど、世界でも最も重要な遺跡が集中する地区であり、1970年代に世界遺産に登録されている。
近年、この遺跡群でも人口増加による環境汚染、地下水の上昇、観光客の増加、開発による遺跡破壊など様々な遺跡劣化の問題が表面化しつつあるが、全体的な遺跡整備計画に関しては議論が遅れており、整備計画の必要性が高まっていた。
これらの遺跡劣化の問題を受けて、メンフィス・ネクロポリスの遺跡整備計画(Site Management Plan)を提示することを研究の目的とした。特に考古学、保存科学、観光学、地質学など、様々な側面から学際的な研究を実施し、整備計画を策定することを目指した。
