Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、電子およびイオンビームをその限界まで集束し、局所的な物理・化学反応を用いる「ナノビーム誘起堆積プロセス技術」を開発し、この技術により可干渉電子線を放出できる真空ナノエレクトロニクスのための電界放出電子源を創製することである。このためにはナノビーム誘起堆積プロセスで作製した固体中の電子のコヒーレンスと、真空中に電界放出された電子のコヒーレンスの関係を明らかにし、コヒーレンスの良い電子線を放出する可干渉電子源を実現する条件を明らかにする。
固体中では様々な散乱によって電子のコヒーレンスが失われるため、可干渉電子線を得るには、ナノメートルオーダーまで接近した2つの放出サイトをもつ電子源を実現する必要がある。このようなナノ間隙エミッタの実現は、従来の半導体プロセスでは不可能であり、マスクレスナノビームプロセスによる電子源のナノメートル精度の加工が必要となる。さらに、堆積金属中の電子のコヒーレンス長、電子源の電子放出特性、電子放出サイトを明らかにし電子の干渉長のプロセス条件や温度に対する依存性の評価を行い、室温でコヒーレント電子線を安定に放出する可干渉電子源を創製する。
