Research Abstract

紫外から近赤外線域まで透明で、収縮応力に伴う亀裂の発生もない石英ガラス同士の強接着を室温下で可能にし、従来の1500℃内外での熱融着行程を無くした。すなわち、石英ガラス同士の被接合面に塗布されたシリコーンオイルに紫外線を照射して、光酸化によって無機ガラスに変質させる過程で接着効果を発現させ、元来石英ガラスが有している高強度性、耐熱性、高紫外線透過性を維持したまま室温下での接着を実現した。
