Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we focused on learning behaviors such as "applying failures to the next learning experience," and developed and evaluated an intervention method that integrates cognitive skills and socio-emotional skills. For example, we conducted an intervention based on the growth mindset, which is one of the socio-emotional skills ("by thinking learning methods and reflecting on failures, students can make their difficulties into strengths), and taught the cognitive skill of lesson induction. In addition, we developed an integrated practice in a public junior high school and evaluated its effectiveness. The effectiveness of a program to teach socio-emotional skills was examined in a subject teaching program in which mainly cognitive skills were learned. As a result, improvement in scores was observed not only in the social skills scale, but also in the general adaptation to learning and self-regulation scales.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究を通じて,従来別々のスキルとして扱われることが多かった認知的スキルと社会情動的スキルを統合的に指導する有効性を検証できた。この点には高い学術的なオリジナリティが存在するといえる。また,本研究で行った介入は,汎用的な資質能力の育成が求められる学校教育に対しても直接的な示唆を与えるものである。特に,個人での学習を行う活動のみならず,他者とのやりとりを行う活動においても介入の有効性が認められた点,特定の活動に対してのみならず全般的な学習適応感の向上などの成果が得られた点は,研究成果として特に意義深い点だと考える。
