Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では続成作用が堆積物中の重元素安定同位体比に与える影響について熱水反応実験と堆積物コア試料の分析を組み合わせて解明することを目的とし、①安定同位体比分離法および分析条件の確立、②天然試料採取と同一層準決定、③熱水反応実験、④天然試料および実験試料の安定同位体比および配位環境分析という4つの研究ステップを4年間で行う計画であった。
2021年度は、①の同位体比分析条件に関して、モリブデン(Mo)同位体比測定の際にパラジウム(Pd)を添加してPd同位体比から装置内分別を補正する手法を検討し、d98/95Mo同位体比測定において±0.04パーミルの精度での分析を達成した。②に関しては、国際深海科学掘削計画(IODP)第346航海で採取された新第三紀の日本海堆積物コアの分析を継続して行っている。前年度に主成分元素濃度測定およびICP-MS分析による微量元素濃度測定が完了しており、今年度は硫黄や炭素の元素分析を行う計画であった。既に全ての試料を錫カプセルに封入し分析前試料準備は完了しているが、元素分析計が故障したため測定には至っていない。③の熱水反応実験に関して、既存の装置では特定の元素のブランクを低減させることが不可能と判明したため、新たな反応容器を用いたブランク実験を行い、基礎データの取得を行った。
