Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、原子核スピンとスピン流物性を繋ぐ新たな学問領域「核スピン流科学」を建設するものである。本年度の主要成果を以下に記す。
1.極低温スピンペルチェ効果の開拓:我々の研究により見出された、核スピンの熱ゆらぎから熱電変換を可能にする新原理「核スピンゼーベック効果」の逆効果が存在する筈である。これはスピントロニクスを利用した新しい低温冷却技術であり、この実現により量子技術に不可欠な4K以下の極低温の新しい熱制御技術を創出できる可能性がある。そこでまず、これまで測定手法が存在しなかった低温域のスピンペルチェ効果の測定法を開拓し、RuO2-AlOx混合膜によるオンチップ型の低温下の温度計測法を確立した。実際にプロトタイプ素子において温度2 Kにおいて測定した所、スピンペルチェ効果の特性を満たす温度変化を観測することに成功した。スピンペルチェ効果によって生じた温度変化はサブマイクロケルビンのオーダーであり、測定精度についても数十ナノケルビンの分解能があることが分かった。本研究はPhysical Review Appliedに出版され、Editors’ Suggestionに選出された。
2.マイクロ波電流誘起NMR分光学の開拓:核スピンの持つ高コヒーレンス性に基づくNMRと、高い操作性を持ち情報の読み書き技術として期待されるスピントロニクス技術とを融合させた新しい分光学の開拓に取り組んだ。試料として、反転対称性の破れた金属薄膜を採用し、これにNMR周波数の高周波電流を印加した所、NMR条件において有意な信号を見出した。また、温度・磁場依存性の測定結果とモデル計算との比較を行いその発現機構を明らかにした。これにより、従来のスピントロニクスで最も開拓・応用が進む金属系において核スピン流現象を開拓するための扉が開いたといえる。
