Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main research results of this study are as follows.
First, it is shown that salespersons who use diverse personal networks, not only within the company but also outside, especially those who are not related to work, such as acquaintances, to consult and collect information on their work have higher work performance like the achievement of sales targets. In addition, it is also revealed that external experiences such as secondment and overseas assignment, as well as active communication and information sharing within the sales team, are related to the formation of network diversity.
From these findings, companies are required to take measures such as the way of sales teams and providing external experiences in order to efficiently utilize human networks.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

日本において人的ネットワークの効果に関する研究は十分な蓄積がなく、また少ない研究の中心は研究者や技術者である。また本研究は、今日ナレッジワーカーとしてのスキルが求められる営業担当者を研究対象として人的ネットワークがどのように活用され、そして仕事パフォーマンスにどのような効果をもたらすのかを検討した。結果は研究者や技術者とそん色のない効果が示されている。
本研究は、人的ネットワークの効果について、日本のケースを取り上げ、国内研究成果を強化した点、さらに、従来の研究対象と異なる職種を取り上げ、人的ネットワークの幅広い普遍的な効果を確認した点に学術的、社会的な意義があると考えられる。
