Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study sought to collect information on infant behavior in the home and the infant’s surroundings following an ecological perspective that views animals and their environment as complementary and build fundamental data on daily living during infancy. Based on the longitudinal observation data of 25 infants during their first year of life, (1) we extracted affordances from the interaction scenes between infants and objects and visualized and compiled a database of characteristic scenes useful for accident prevention and developmental promotion. Then, (2) we compiled basic data items on both the physical and environmental aspects that could be referred to as a platform for a safer living environment and developed a web application for searching home hazards by the size of objects at home as an example of its use.
