Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of this study was to clarify the effects of the onset of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) on feeding behavior. The amount of food ingested tended to increase with the onset of NAFLD. In the NAFDL mice, there was fat accumulation in the liver region, but less visceral fat accumulation. As a result, even though energy intake was increased, leptin secretion was low, suggesting that the regulation of feeding might not be fully function. However, the analysis of central regulation of feeding was insufficient in this study, and further studies are needed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
