Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The study confirmed that language-related issues need to be addressed to achieve inclusive education on gender and sexual diversity. These issues include the use of first-person pronouns for children who are considered to be LGBTQ and the sense of language among such children. The study then clarified how gender and sexual diversity and language issues should be addressed in elementary school language education. An approach was then designed based on the children’s developmental stage and course of study to address issues relating to gender and sexual diversity and language. This approach involved qualitative vocabulary instructions and the development of children’s sense of language as well as the creation of lessons on media literacy and literary education. Accordingly, an elementary school language education curriculum that embraces gender and sexual diversity was studied and developed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
