Outline of Final Research Achievements

To promote the utilization of geological information in urban areas, we developed a voxel modeling method of geotechnical features, such as facies and Standard Penetration Test results (SPT N-values), using a large number of borehole data. In addition, we investigated a machine learning-based stratigraphic prediction method using geotechnical features obtained from borehole data for areas with relatively simple geological structures. Furthermore, we developed a prototype system for visualizing voxel model of geotechnical features and its horizontal and vertical cross-sections on web browser, using three.js, an open-source JavaScript library for three-dimensional computer graphics.

本研究成果は,地下の土・岩石などの3 次元分布をボーリングデータから機械処理を用いて求めるための技術的基礎を向上するものであり,都市域の地下浅部の地質構造解析における客観性の確保と作業時間の削減に貢献する.また,地質学に関する知識をもたない者でも地下における地層の3次元的な広がりを容易に把握できるWeb環境の整備に資するものであり,我が国における地質に関するリテラシーの向上や地質学者の裾野の拡大に貢献する.
