Outline of Final Research Achievements

Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and as a cofactor for collagen polymerization reaction. Besides these functions, vitamin C may regulate gene expression via epigenetic modification. However, the function of vitamin C on gene expression is not fully elucidated in normal tissue. In this study, we found that vitamin C regulate gene expression using human epidermis equivalent model. Our results indicate that vitamin C may regulate gene expression in normal tissue.
