Project Period (FY) 2019-04-01 – 2022-03-31
Outline of Final Research Achievements

We uncovered the important contribution of Favine on atherosclerosis. Favine deficiency in apolipoprotein E KO mice accelerated atherosclerosis accompanied by calcification and thrombus. Gene expression changes in the aortas of Favine/Apolipoprotein E double knockout mice resembled those with human unstable atherosclerotic plaques.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
