Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to evaluate "Think Like a Nurse" Program to develop clinical judgement ability using Concept-based Learning for nursing practice among Baccalaureate Nursing Students. The program consisted of (1) e-learning about concepts for nursing practice, and (2) scenario learning for facilitating sense of salience and clinical image. Participants were 25 nursing students. Findings showed a significant increase in the appropriate clinical judgment score of 4.28 pre-test to 7.60 post-test (p<.001). And the benefits of concept-based learning were reported by participants that students could identify important information, and make sense of information through the use of the concept.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

看護職の優れた判断にもとづく実践は、看護ケアの質と患者アウトカムの向上をもたらす。しかし、米国とオーストラリアにおける重症患者インシデントの分析では、新卒看護師の 2/3 以上が安全でない臨床判断を行っていることが報告されている。我が国においては、看護師の役割の拡大に対応できる看護実践能力の育成を目指し、第5次保健師助産師看護法指定規則改定にて、臨床判断能力の基盤を強化することが明記されたが、臨床判断能力の教育方略に関する妥当性の高い研究はまだほとんどなくエビデンスの創生が喫緊の課題となっている。本研究結果は、臨床判断育成の1方法としてコンセプト・ベースド・ラーニングを用いる有用性を示した。
