Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of our study was to clarify the process of improving emotional intelligence for psychiatric ward nurses who care for emotionally-distressed adolescents through their participation in 3 learning sessions, which included the viewing of originally-developed videos and group discussions. Our subjects were 7 nurses working in a child and adolescent psychiatric ward who consented to and participated in our study program of three 90-minute sessions with two-week intervals. Three of the 7 subjects showed improvement in all 3 sub-scales of emotional intelligence. Two subjects showed improvement in “intrapersonal EQ” or “situational EQ”; however, the remaining 2 subjects showed a decline in emotional intelligence scores.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
