Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aims to identify technical and clinical issues and to examine implementation methods for applying location detection technology to community care units to improve the quality of care. In this study, we developed a method for detecting basical care actions, such as changing positions, through "material authentication" and discussed the ethical issues involved in applying the Internet of Things (IoT) to hospital inpatient care, and proposed a realistic implementation method.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

看護や介護の分野では、位置検知技術の活用が少なかった。特に位置を特定する方法として加速度センサやGPSなど多様な方法があるほか、位置を類推するための情報を用いて代替的に位置情報を検出する手法もあるところ、本研究では体位変換マットレスを用いた手法などを考案し、一部は実用新案登録を受けることもできた。また、こうした技術適用には医療現場の同意が必要となるところ、適用範囲について看護管理者向けアンケートを通じておおむね合意が得られている範囲を示すなど、実装に向けた貢献ができたと考えている。
