Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research aims to clarify how 『玉臺新詠』was accepted and overcome during the early Tang and the mid-Tang period. The early Tang period in particular was a time when rhetoric-based literature reminiscent of『玉臺新詠』 was surpassed, and alternate possibilities of poetry were explored by 盧照鄰, 駱賓王 and other poets. This study examines the specific momentum for another poetic forms that exceed 『玉臺新詠』from the poetic works of 盧照鄰 and 駱賓王.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では初唐の文学趨勢について、六朝末期文学との関連の上から考察した。従来もこの様な試みはあったが、それらは主に韻律面や形式面から盛唐詩の胚胎を見出すことが主な目的となっていた。これはつまり、個々の詩人の内的な部分の検討や、それぞれの詩文についてはあまり着眼されてこなかったということでもある。本研究では宮廷外の詩人達の個々の詩文を丁寧に読み解くことで、初唐期の六朝末期文学受容の一端を明らかにした。
個々の作品内部から初唐期の文学趨勢を考察した本研究は、唐代文学史、殊に初唐文学から盛唐文学に至る流れを考える上で、一定の意義を示すことができたと言える。
