Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research traced the trend of wide-area historical studies, such as "East Asian history," in South Korea and clarified its characteristics. The following three issues were analyzed for this purpose.
(1) The significance of the emergence of the terms related to the wider world in the 1960s(2) The background of the creation of the term "Tribute-Investiture"(3) The background of the establishment of the term "East Asia".

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、韓国での東アジアの形成過程を跡づけ、その背景を考察することができた。冷戦とその崩壊という社会的状況と軌を一にしつつ形成された韓国的な東アジア像を分析することで、中国中心性からの脱却という特色や、韓国的なナラティブとその分析の必要性を確認することができた。
