Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There are three research achievements. The first is academic publication. I submitted my doctoral thesis in 2021 and made two conference presentations in 2019 and 2021. In these achievements, I used the historical survey and interview data collected in this research project. Secondly, symposia about eating disorders were organized. I co-organized four conferences in March-April 2022 with people who experienced eating disorders. Also, I presented eating disorders at lectures open to the public. Lastly, after completing this project, I gained new perspectives to develop research on eating disorders further. One of the most critical perspectives is toward prisoners with eating disorders, which has not often been on the agenda of sociological research on eating disorders. I visited four prisons and got some information on the current situation of the prison system and dealing with people with mental health conditions.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
